materials & sourcing
European flax. Our linen starts as flax grown on certified farms across France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. The European Flax® certification guarantees full traceability from field to finished fabric — no shortcuts, no blends.
Stonewashed by hand. Every piece is tumbled with natural pumice stones for a soft, lived-in texture from day one. No chemical softeners, no artificial treatments — just the natural beauty of well-worked flax.
OEKO-TEX® certified dyes. Every dye we use is independently tested and certified free from harmful substances. Safe for direct skin contact, including sensitive and baby skin.
Naturally sustainable. Flax needs minimal water and zero pesticides to grow. Every piece we make is fully biodegradable. No synthetic blends, no microplastics — just pure, natural fibre that returns to the earth

Care & Maintenance
How should I wash my linen clothes?
Wash linen in cool or lukewarm water (30°C/86°F) using a gentle cycle. Use mild detergent without bleach or fabric softeners, as these can break down the fibers. Linen can be machine washed, but hand washing will extend its lifespan even further.
Can I put linen in the dryer?
Air drying is best for linen to prevent shrinkage and maintain the fabric's integrity. If you must use a dryer, use low heat and remove items while slightly damp. Hang or lay flat to finish drying naturally.
How do I iron linen without damaging it?
Iron linen while it's still slightly damp using medium to high heat. Iron on the reverse side to prevent shine, and use steam for best results. For a more relaxed look, you can skip ironing entirely – linen looks beautiful with its natural texture.
Will my linen clothes shrink?
High-quality, pre-washed linen will have minimal shrinkage (1-2%). However, avoid hot water and high heat drying to prevent any unwanted shrinkage. Our garments are pre-treated to minimize this issue.

Thoughtfully made, from field to fabric
Every Agni Linen piece begins with European flax, grown without irrigation in the cool climates of France and Belgium. From there, the fabric is woven and finished in family-owned workshops across Portugal and Lithuania — regions with generations of textile craftsmanship and a deep respect for the material.
We chose linen because nothing else comes close. It breathes when you need it to, softens with every wash, and lasts for years without losing its character. We keep our production small and intentional — no overruns, no waste, no compromise on the things that matter.
What you get is simple: honest materials, careful making, and a product that only gets better with time.
Frequently asked questions
What makes linen special compared to other fabrics?
Linen is made from flax fibers, making it one of the strongest natural fibers available. It's incredibly breathable, moisture-wicking, and becomes softer with each wash. Unlike synthetic fabrics, linen is completely biodegradable and has natural antibacterial properties that keep you fresh throughout the day.
I've heard linen is rough and scratchy – is this true?
This is one of the biggest misconceptions about modern linen! While raw, untreated linen can feel stiff initially, our linen undergoes a specialized stone washing process that transforms the fabric completely. Stone washing uses natural pumice stones to gently break down the fibers, creating an incredibly soft, supple texture that feels luxurious against your skin from the very first wear.
What exactly is stone washing and how does it improve linen?
Stone washing is a finishing process where linen fabric is tumbled with natural volcanic stones in large industrial washers. This mechanical action softens the fibers, removes any residual stiffness, and creates that coveted "broken-in" feel without compromising the fabric's durability. The result is linen that drapes beautifully and feels as comfortable as your favorite worn-in cotton shirt, but with all of linen's superior breathability and moisture-wicking properties.
Will stone-washed linen maintain its softness?
Yes! Unlike some treatments that wash out over time, stone washing creates permanent changes in the fiber structure. Your linen will actually continue to get softer with each wash and wear, developing a beautiful patina and even more comfortable hand-feel as time goes on.
